If one of theme layers is selected in the navigation window, a property sheet “Properties of layer in filter” will be opened at the menu command Edit+Filter. This property sheet is similar to the property sheet “Properties of group” described above, however, set style and visibility flags apply to all filter groups for all feature types of theme layer.
Properties of a layer in filter interact with properties specified for filter groups according to the following rules:
Features making part of some filter group are displayed only in the case if the box Visible is checked both in properties of this group and in properties of the corresponding theme layer.
The style of theme layer in filter is used for displaying features of some filter group only in the case if usage of the inherited style is specified in properties of this group. If Use inherited style is indicated for the layer as well, specific feature style is inherited, then the style of feature type of theme and so on. Thus, style inheritance scheme taking into account the filter looks approximately as it is shown at figure 37-5.

Not to complicate the picture, the possibility of specifying styles for theme scale zones is not taken into account here (see chapter 12 “Themes”).
