As it was described in chapter 50 “Operations of copying” after the step of selecting the second component of the copying operation the system passes to next copying wizard step and opens the page of resolving conflicts of components. User permissions to the source and destination affect the contents of the panes of this page and choosing of possible methods of processing components.
The pane of component types, like in the absence of access control, contains a list of all types of GDB components participating in copying operations. In case of the operation of merging GDB, this list contains additional type of components “Users” (see next section).
When one of the component types is selected, the pane of components contains a list of names of all components of the present type which take part in the operation (see figure 52-2). Names of those source components to which the current user of source GDB has access are enumerated in this list. Other more particular permissions to the source (such as, for example, permissions to change structure and data) do not affect setting and performing copying operations.
User permissions to the destination affect determining the set of possible processing methods for selected component. Limitations imposed on the choice of admissible processing method are described below.
Copying a map (including copying with renaming) is possible if there is permission to change structure of maps of destination GDB.
Merging a map from source GDB with one of the maps of destination GDB is possible if there is permission to change structure of the present destination map.
Copying a cataloged theme (including copying with renaming) is possible if there is general permission to change structure of cataloged themes of destination GDB.
Copying a table (including copying with renaming) is possible if there is general permission to change structure of tables of destination GDB.
Merging a table from source GDB with one of the tables from destination GDB is possible if there is permission to change data of this table of the destination.
Copying a cataloged query (including copying with renaming) is possible if there is general permission to change structure of cataloged queries of destination GDB.
Copying a style to library of destination GDB (including copying with renaming) is possible if there is permission to change library of destination GDB.
The system never offers inadmissible variant of copying operation as default variant, when the user tries to select such a variant in the context menu of the pane of components the system informs about violation of permissions.
