The dialog box permits setting and performing the operation of simplification of area and line features which consists in the elimination of those vertices which have insignificant influence on the feature's overall shape.
The input field Simplification threshold contains the corresponding value. A vertex is to be deleted if the distance from it to the line connecting the previous vertex to the next one is less than the specified threshold value.
The pane Number of vertices contains the total number of vertices of area and line features selected before the simplification operation is performed. After the button Calculate is pushed, the number of vertices to be retained after performing the operation is also displayed in the pane.
Perform | Performs the operation of simplification and closes the dialog box. |
Cancel | Cancels the operation and closes the dialog box. |
