The window serves for adding, viewing and editing records of a table or a query linked with selected feature of the browsed theme. Feature information window is in many aspects similar to the window of adding and editing table records but differs in taking into account links with the feature and also in the possibility to choose the browsed table in the list of linked tables.
Type and layer of selected feature are indicated in the window title or a string “No features selected” or “Several features selected” is displayed.
Contains a list of all GDB tables and tables from external data sources linked with the feature type to which selected feature belongs. For every linked table the pane also contains names of all queries based on this table or using this table as a root table of the join. A list of table and queries is shown in the pane as a hierarchic tree.
When selecting one of the tables or queries in the list, the editing pane will display record fields of this table or query linked with the feature selected in map browser window.
This pane is located below the pane of list of tables. It contains names of fields of a table or a query.
It is possible to select fields in the pane. Selected fields can be hidden, rearranged and so on. All the operations except for rearranging fields can be performed using the context menu or the item Fields in window menu.
Changing the order of fields is performed by dragging selected field (or fields) while holding down the left mouse button. In the course of dragging the cursor takes the form
or
depending on whether locating table field is allowed in this place or not.
Multiple selection of fields is possible. To reset selection it is enough to click by any mouse button in the editing pane.
The editing pane is intended for browsing and editing values of record fields.
The left part of the status bar shows the number of records of selected table linked with selected feature and the relative number of the current record among linked ones (for example, “Record 2 of 5”). If no record is linked with the present feature, “New record” is indicated in the status bar.
In the right part of the status bar the mode of linking a table with feature type is indicated (unique or multiple) and also it shows whether editing and adding records is allowed (depending on characteristics of the set query).
