Mode Ruler

Purpose and description

This mode permits measuring different lengths and areas in displaying pane. The cursor takes the form of a cross: . An auxiliary window “Ruler” is opened. Clicking in required points of the pane (for example, in corners of some area feature) it is possible to build a polyline (that is, a broken line) and see the information about separate polyline segments (coordinates of ends, length, slope angle) and about the polyline as a whole in the window “Ruler”. When the box Autocomplete is checked, the system does not build a polyline, but a closed polygon and displays data about polygon area.

Building a polyline or a polygon is completed after a double click in the last vertex. After that one can start building next figure, the previous one is removed from the screen, but its length and area are taken into account in total values until the button Reset is pushed.

The window “Ruler” will be closed when any other mode is chosen.
