This dialog box permits viewing and changing the condition of searching records in EDB query. In the case when the search condition has been already specified for the query, the new condition will be added to the old one which will lead to narrowing or spreading of the search.
Condition pane | This pane contains a list of rows each of which corresponds to the simple condition in the search condition |
Simple condition | The pane of simple condition serves for entering and editing simple conditions which make part of the search condition. Radio buttons Logical operator serve for specifying the logical operator which connects simple conditions. If the search condition consists of one simple condition, the radio button No should be checked. If the search condition consists of several simple conditions, the radio button No should be checked only for the first simple condition which makes part of the search condition. The drop-down list Field serves for selecting a name of the query field for which the simple condition is specified. The drop-down list Relation serves for specifying the relation in the simple condition. The list of possible relations offered when the present item is selected depends on the type of the query field for which the simple condition is specified. The presence of fields 1st operand and 2nd operand depends on the relation specified for the simple condition being entered. |
Add | Serves for adding the simple condition specified in the pane of simple condition to the search condition. |
Change | When pushing this button the simple condition specified in the pane of simple condition replaces the condition selected in the pane of condition. |
Remove | The button allows removing the simple condition selected in the pane of simple condition. |
Clean | The button permits cleaning the contents of the simple conditions, that is, removing all simple conditions. |
OK | The button serves for performing the operation of searching records. After pushing this button the dialog box “Search” will be closed and after some time required for the system to execute a request to the data source a browser window of the query will be opened which contains only the records satisfying the search condition. If the command Search was performed in query browser window, a new query browser will be opened. |
Cancel | Cancels actions performed in the dialog box and closes the dialog. |
