Page “Selecting columns”

Purpose

This page of the wizard of adding/changing an EDB table as a VIEW serves for selecting columns of the base tables which are displayed in the view.

Panes

List pane of fields

Contain the list of all the EDB tables on the base of which the given view is built.

In the column Column the name of a table is shown and, after a dot, the name of a field of this table. The checkbox at the left of the name indicates if this field of the table is to be displayed in the view or not.

In the column Column name in view the name which the corresponding field (column) will have in the given view. By default, the system proposes to use the same name as in the table. In the case of duplicating a name, the digit 1, 2 etc. is added to the name.

Column name in view

Here the user can specify another name under which the field selected in the list will be displayed in the view.

After pushing the button Rename the entered name will be put into the column Column name in view of the list pane of fields

Buttons

Up, Down

Serve to change the field order in the view. The selected field is moved up or down along the list.

Select all
Reset all

Serve for quick setting or resetting of all checkboxes, i.e. for including or excluding of all the fields of all base tables in the given view.
