“ObjectLand settings'. Page “GDB Opening”

Purpose

This page of the property sheet “ObjectLand settings” is used for setting default mode which should be used when the operation of opening GDB is performed. Selected mode will be offered by the system in dialog boxes “Open GDB” and “Setting GDB open mode”.

This page is also used for specifying location of system work files and of the change file and also for determining the format of representing names of recently opened GDBs in the history list.

Work files are created in the course of system work and are automatically removed when the work is completed. When selecting their location one should specify the disk available for writing and containing enough free space.

Panes

Open mode

It contains three checkboxes for specifying default mode of opening GDB. This mode will be offered by the system when dialog boxes “Open GDB” and “Setting GDB Open Mode” are opened.

The checkbox Change file is enabled only in the case if the permanent mode of obligatory usage or non-usage of change file has not been set for GDB.

Folder for work files of GDB and shared library

It allows for selection of the folder for locating work files of the system. If the box Create in GDB and shared library folders is checked, these files are placed in the same folders where the current GDB and shared library are located. If this box is cleared, the user can use the button Browse for choosing any other folder.

Folder for GDB change file

It allows for selection of the folder for locating the change file. If the box Change file in GDB folder is checked, this file is placed in the same folder where the current GDB is located. If this box is cleared, the user can use the button Browse for choosing any other folder.

Show full path for recently opened GDBs

This checkbox determines how names of recently opened GDBs will be displayed in the history list. If the box is cleared, only GDB name will be displayed. If it is checked, the full path to GDB file will be displayed. If the string specifying the full path is too long, the history list will contain the beginning and the end of this string.

Autoopening external databases

Checking this box permits performing opening of external databases when the corresponding GDB is being opened. If the box is cleared, autoopening will not be performed even if autoopening mode for specific EDBs is set.
