Wizard page “Setting parameters” of import from MIF file

Purpose

The page is intended for specifying import parameters and saving import settings file.

Panes

On this page the pane of parameters containing five pages with tabs is located and the pane “Settings file”.

Page “Import Region”

Input fields contain coordinates of the left bottom (LB) and right top (RT) corners of the map page being imported. Values of these fields are read from MIF file, they cannot be changed. Coordinates x and y are indicated in accordance with coordinate system used in the file.

Page “Precision”

The page contains the only input field Approximation of arcs where the number of vertices of the regular polygon approximating the circle or ellipse being imported is specified. Default value is 36, that is, a circle will be approximated by a polygon consisting of 36 vertices from which we may conclude that the arc replaced in import by its chord will be equal to 10°.

Page “Point Features”

The page serves for setting parameters of map symbols of point features being imported.

The input field Size serves for specifying the height of symbols of point features being imported. The height is specified in map units. If the present size is not specified in the loaded settings file, it is set by the system by default – 0.01 from the range of map coordinates.

The input field Zoom threshold is used for specifying zoom threshold of symbols. The range of possible field values is from 1 to 1000 pixels, default value is 15.

Page “Date”

To select date formats drop-down lists in input fields Format and Separator are used. In the field Sample the current date in selected format is shown. The field Threshold of dates is used only when representing the year by two digits, it denotes minimum two-digit number of year which will be referred to century XX in import (all values less than this threshold will be imported as years of century XXI).

Page “Boolean”

Contains two input fields: True and False allowing the user to select representation of the corresponding values of Boolean fields of MID file in the drop-down lists or enter them from the keyboard.

For the value “True” the system offers the representations T, TRUE, Y and YES. For the value “False” – F, FALSE, N and NO. The user can enter other representations of Boolean values.

Pane “Settings file”

If the box Save Settings is checked, the pane permits specifying a name of import settings file. To enter field name the button Browse should be pushed. A dialog box of saving a file will appear.
