Dialog box “Adding table”

Purpose

The dialog box permits specifying sizes of the table added to the layout and setting a link of this table with one of GDB queries.

Panes

Query

If the box Query is checked, the table being created will display data from some GDB query or from the query of one of opened EDBs. Names of all cataloged queries of the current GDB or of all opened EDBs are displayed in the hierarchical pane. The user can choose any of them. In table cells beginning from the top left corner query fields will be displayed beginning from the first field of the first record. In the first row of the table names of query fields will be shown, and in the first column – record numbers. For queries which contain calculated fields one more table row is added which contains total values by query fields.

If the box Query is cleared, the table being created will be filled in independently on table data of GDB and EDB.

Size

In the fields Columns and Rows sizes of the table being created are specified. These sizes can be changed, maximum number of rows and columns is limited by sizes of the layout page.

When opening the dialog box these fields contain the values corresponding to table sizes indicated when the table was located on the layout page.

If the box Adapt to query is checked, the system tries to change the specified number of rows and columns in such a way that they corresponded to the sizes of the selected query. If the query sizes exceed the maximum number of rows or columns, messages “Total fields not placed: …”, “Total records not placed: …” are displayed in the pane Size.
