“Properties of axis of arguments/values”, page “Scale”

This page of the property sheet of coordinate axis of the chart allows viewing and changing values of parameters of the scale displayed on the axis.

Panes

Pane of scale parameters

The pane contains input fields for some scale parameters of coordinate axis of the chart. Values of these parameters can be either calculated automatically or entered manually. For manual input of parameter value it is required to clear the box Calculate automatically on the left of parameter name in advance. In some cases the checkbox is disabled, it means that for selected type of chart this parameter is always calculated automatically.

Minimal value – the minimal value to which primary scale graduation correspond. Lines of the primary grid can be drawn through these points.

Maximal value – the maximal value to which primary scale graduation correspond.

Primary scale factor – increment corresponding to one point.

Secondary scale factor – increment corresponding to one secondary scale point. Secondary scale points as well as primary ones, are taken from the minimal value. As a rule, one primary scale point consists of an integer number of secondary points, however not necessarily. It is possible, for example, to specify the primary scale point equal to 1 m and that of secondary one – to 1 foot.

Crossing with axis at value – specifies the magnitude of the argument or value of chart corresponding to crossing of the axis of arguments with the axis of values.

Logarithmic scale

If this box is checked, every point on the axis corresponds to multiplying of value by some definite factor (it is specified by scale factor). When the box is cleared, the point corresponds to adding of some definite amount to the value.

Reverse

This box permits setting the reverse order of increase of values along the axis (that is, the “top-down” order instead of the usual “bottom-up” or the order “from right to left”, when usually the order “from left to right “ is used).

Points between groups

If this box is checked groups of data are located between primary scale points. If this box is cleared, position of groups of data coincides with primary scale points.
