Group by

This radio button allows for selection of one of the possible ways of grouping lines of the legend:

By theme layers – legend lines are grouped according to feature types belonging to some theme layers.

By spatial category – legend lines are grouped by spatial categories of the corresponding features (Point, Line, Area, Text, Image).

Title style

A dialog box “Title style” permitting the user to specify displaying style for names of groups of elements (that is, names of layers or names of spatial categories) is opened.

Filter group style

A dialog box “Filter group style” permitting the user to specify displaying style for filter descriptions is opened.

Samples style

A dialog box “Samples style” permitting the user to specify displaying style for those legend elements which clarify the samples (that is, for names of spatial categories and names of filter groups) is opened.

Background style

A dialog box “Background style” allowing the user to specify fill and hatch styles for displaying the background against which legend will be displayed is opened.

Border style

A dialog box “Border style” permitting the user to specify line style for displaying border of layout element – legend is opened.

Draft

If the box Draft is checked, the legend is displayed in the pane as a rectangle with an inscription: “Legend: theme name”. The draft mode speeds up displaying of a layout containing a big number of elements. However complete displaying of the legend will be performed at a printing device.

Only selectable

If this box is checked, the legend includes only the feature types which can be selected in the corresponding theme.

Show border

The checkbox setting if it is necessary to display border line around the layout element – legend.

Show titles

The checkbox which determines if names of legend sections (that is, names of theme layers, spatial types, filter descriptions) should be displayed in the legend or it is necessary to display only the feature types and filter groups.

Apply indents

The checkbox which determines if titles of legend sections should be singled out by horizontal indents in the course of displaying a legend or not.

Auto calculation of text height

This checkbox permits automatic recalculation of vertical sizes of legend elements so that they occupied the whole rectangle of the legend but didn't overlap each other.

If the box is checked, the system ignores the text heights specified in the dialog boxes of title elements, filter elements and sample elements style.

Auto format

The checkbox which permits automatic calculation of the number of columns depending on the number of legend elements and their height. This checkbox has some influence only if automatic calculation of text heights is disabled.

Number of columns

Input field for manual specifying the number of columns (in the case if auto format is disabled).

OK

Confirms changes of parameters of layout element and closes the dialog box.

Cancel

Cancels all made changes and closes the dialog box.
