Window “Table contents”

Purpose

The window serves for making changes of a table – layout element. The window permits changing the number of rows and columns, changing contents of table cells and also determining displaying format.

Table pane

The pane contains display of a rectangular array of all table cells. If the table does not fit into the pane, scroll bars are located at the bottom and to the right.

A column with numbers of rows is located at the left border of the table pane, the row with numbers of columns – at the upper border. Table rows are numbered from top to bottom beginning from number 1, and columns – from left to right by letters A, B, … , Y, Z. If the number of columns exceeds 26, two-letter numbers are used further, then three-letter numbers and so on.

Menu bar

It is located in the upper part of the window and contains basic groups of operations which can be performed in the window.

Toolbars

Toolbars contain graphic buttons causing execution of the most frequently used commands. By default the window contains three toolbars:

Status bar

It is located in the lower part of the window. It contains data about active cell of the table.

Menu Table

Restore

Cancels all table changes made after the command Save.

Save

Saves table changes.

Close

Serves for closing the window.

Menu Edit

Cut

Moves values of selected cell or a block of cells to clipboard removing them from the table.

Copy

Copies values of selected cell or block of cells to clipboard without removing them from the table.

Paste

Pastes values cut or copied in the same or in a different window into selected table cells.

Clean

Removes values of selected table cells and resets the format of cells.

Insert Columns

Inserts one or several empty columns into a table.

Remove Columns

Removes one or several neighboring table columns containing selected cells.

Insert Rows

Inserts one or several empty rows into a table.

Remove Rows

Removes one or several neighboring table rows containing selected cells.

Unite Cells

Serves for uniting selected rectangular block of table cells into one “big” cell.

Disunite Cells

Removes selected table cell from the union in which it is included.

Select All

Selects all table cells.

Reset Selection

Resets selection for all table cells.

Menu View

Toolbars

Serves for turning on/turning off display of window toolbars and also permits performing setting of window control elements.

Gridlines

Turns on and turns off display of dotted grid separating cells in table pane.

Highlight Union Owners

Turns on and turns off the mode in which union owners are marked by a skew cross.

Unformatted Values

Turns on and turns off the mode in which standard representation is used for displaying cells.

Highlight Arrays of Values

Turns on and turns off the mode of highlighting cells linked with different arrays of values using fill styles of different colors.

Update

Causes update of window contents.

Menu Format

Cells

Opens a property sheet “Properties of cells” allowing the user to set format of displaying values, specifying the font, borders and background of cell display.

Align

Permits choosing one of the nine variants of horizontal and vertical alignment for values in selected cells.

Template

Allows choosing the type of data and format of displaying values for selected cells.

Width

Permits specifying width of table columns which contain selected cells.

Height

Allows specifying height of those table rows which contain selected cells.

Menu Data

Create Array of Values

Allows creating a new array of values representing description of links between GDB query and table cells.

Edit Array of Values

Serves for changing parameters of existing array of values.

Customize

Permits performing setting of window control elements.

Opens a window “GIS ObjectLand help” containing reference data on ObjectLand.

Field Cells range

Displays the current set of selected table cells and allows changing it from the keyboard.

Drop-down list Value type

Permits setting type of data which can be entered from the keyboard to table cells.

Field Cell value

Displays the value stored in the cell in the standard format. Permits entering values from the keyboard.
