The dialog box is opened after performing the command Search for a table or a query and permits specifying search condition in the table or query. In the case if the search condition has been specified for the query already, the new condition will be added to the old one which will lead to narrowing or spreading of search.
Tables | The pane contains a list of table names if the query is built by joining several tables. If there is only one base table, the list will contain only the name of this table. |
Conditions for selected table | The condition pane has a list of rows each of which corresponds to the simple condition in search condition. |
Simple condition | The pane of simple condition serves for adding and editing simple conditions making part of search condition. |
Logical operator | Radio buttons of this pane serve for specifying the logical operator linking simple conditions. If the search condition consists of one simple condition, the radio button No should be checked. If the search condition is made up of several simple conditions, the radio button No should be checked for the first simple condition making part of full search condition. |
Field | The drop-down list Field serves for selecting the name of the table field for which simple condition is specified. |
Relation | The drop-down list Relation serves for specifying the relation in the simple condition. The offered list of possible relations depends on the type of the table field for which simple condition is specified. |
Operand | The presence of input fields 1st operand and 2nd operand depends on the relation of the specified simple condition. |
| The buttons serve for placing parentheses in the expression for the search condition. The “+” buttons add an opening parenthesis, the “–” buttons remove it. |
Add | The button serves for adding the simple condition specified in the pane of simple condition in search condition. |
Remove | The button allows removing the simple condition selected in the condition pane. |
Change | When pushing the button Change the simple condition specified in simple condition pane will replace the condition selected in the condition pane. |
Clean | The button Clean cleans the contents of the condition pane, that is, removes all simple conditions. |
OK | The button serves for performing the operation of searching records. After pushing it the dialog box “Search” will be closed and in some time required for the system for searching records the table browser window containing only records satisfying search condition will be opened. If the command Search was performed in table browser window, a new table browser window will be opened. |
Cancel | Cancels actions made in the dialog box and closes it. |
