Control of access to shared library

ObjectLand shared style library is not a part of some GDB, it is an independent component of the system. Due to this permissions to shared library are set and checked independently of permissions to GDB.

Control of access to shared library is much easier than control of access to GDB. There is a single permission which can be given not to all users, namely, permission to change library contents. Using styles available in the library cannot be prohibited for anyone.

Permission to change shared library contents is protected by a password. Right after installing ObjectLand the password is not set, that is, every user can easily perform operations leading to changing library contents, namely, operations of adding, removing, renaming and editing styles. Any user can set a password for shared library. If such a password is set, in next ObjectLand sessions an attempt to make some changes in the library will cause opening of a dialog box with a request: “Enter password of shared library”. If the password is entered correctly the system permits the user to make changes in shared library in the course of the whole session. Incorrect input causes a message: “Incorrect password of shared library”.

To set, change, reset password of shared library it is required to select the line “Shared Style Library” in the pane of the navigation window and perform the command Edit+Password. A nested menu consisting of two items described below appears.
