When the user works with GDB the system permits performing only the operations which correspond to permissions granted to this user.
If the user does not have any access to some GDB components (to particular maps, themes, tables, queries or all components of the present type and also to the list of users), when working with the main window and other navigation windows inaccessible components are present neither in the hierarchical pane nor in the list pane, that is, the user does not have any information about their existence and cannot perform any operations with these components.
If user's access to some GDB component is limited (that is, only some operations are allowed), the system displays the menu items and buttons which correspond to the operations not allowed for this user in disabled form.
In some cases (for example, when merging GDB, copying components from one database to another one) user's actions can affect not only the current database, but also the other available GDB for which access control is used. In such cases before performing the operation the system will request the name and password of the user for the corresponding GDB similarly as it happens when opening GDB.
