The menu command Edit+Name and Password permits changing the name and password of the user selected in the list.
The system requests that changing of user's password was performed only by the user who knows the password subject to changing. It should not necessarily be the very user whose name and/or password will be changed, it is enough to know the password being changed. In this connection when performing the command Name and Password a dialog box “Password” is opened for input of the current password of the user whose name and password are subject to changing. In case of correct input of the current password a dialog box “Changing user name and password” is opened. This dialog box is exactly the same as the dialog box of adding a user at figure 86-2. Both stages of changing the name and password are shown at figure 86-3, a), b).

If it is required to change only the user's name but not the password, the easiest way is to use the standard method of renaming GDB components: perform the command Edit+Rename or just click in the list pane on the name of the user selected beforehand. The mode of name editing is turned on. It should be noted that in this case renaming of the user does not require knowing his or her password.
Name and password of GDB administrator can be changed only by administrator himself.
In mode of shared access to GDB changing name and password of users is disabled.
