Procedures of performing copying, moving, merging a layer are similar to the same procedures for maps (see the corresponding subsections of chapter 52 “Merging maps” and chapter 53 “Copying and moving a map”). One should just keep in mind that a layer is a constituent part of a map and its hierarchical level of GDB components is lower (table 50-1).
