Styles are present in the list of component type pane only if the source and destination GDBs are different.
When selecting one of the lines in the pane of component types: “Map symbols”, “Line styles”, “Fill Styles”, “Hatch styles” or “Fonts”, a list with names of the corresponding library styles of source GDB used in the source map will be displayed in the pane of components.
The style is used in the map if it serves to specify displaying styles of the following components:
map layer;
feature type in the map layer;
layer of the theme built on the basis of a map;
feature type in theme layer;
filter group;
map feature.
All the styles enumerated above potentially have a possibility to be included into the list of the settings pane. And these are the styles which will not be included into the list:
shared library styles (including the ones used in the source map);
library styles of source GDB not used in the source map;
library styles of the source GDB used only in features of the source map (as feature's own styles), if the copying variant Structure or Graphics Structure was selected.
It should be noted that names of library styles of source GDB used only in layers or types of source map for which the processing mode Do not Copy is set will be also present in the settings pane. However, these styles will not be copied not depending on processing modes specified for them.
One should keep in mind that if the processing mode Merge is specified for some layer of the source map, names of source GDB library styles used only in the structure of this layer will be also present in the settings pane. However, these styles will not be copied not depending on processing modes specified for them.
The context menu of the pane of components contains items: Rename, Use Destination, Do not Copy, Substitute from GDB Library and Substitute from Shared Library. The menu items are applied to selected style (or styles) and serve for specifying the required mode of processing it.
The system propose Copy as the default mode. If there is a style in the destination library with the same name as the selected source style then Undefined will be initially set in the column “Mode”.
The item Rename allows copying selected style to the library of the destination GDB under a different name. When selecting this item, the system will request a new name for the style. This name will be indicated in the column “Name in destination GDB” in the pane of components.
The item Use Destination permits using in the destination map the style with the same name from the destination GDB library instead of selected library style of the source GDB library. It is possible if there is such a style in the destination.
When selecting the items: Substitute from GDB Library and Substitute from Shared Library a dialog box “Selecting style” will be opened.
Figure 52-7. Dialog box “Selecting style”
This dialog box enables the user to substitute the conflicting library style of the source GDB in the destination map by any style of the destination GDB library or from shared library. The name of the substituting style will be indicated in the column: “Name in destination GDB” of the pane of components.
The item Do not Copy permits the user not to copy selected library style of the source GDB. In this case the style located higher according to the hierarchy of style inheritance (see chapter 10 “Feature displaying styles”) will be used to display features in the destination GDB.
