When working with the main windows of ObjectLand, including map browser window, the user can call various commands for executing required operations. As an example, the following commands can be named: saving of the browsed theme, creating new features, browsing mode switching and so on. For calling commands different window control elements may be used:
menu items grouped in pull-down menus the names of which are placed in the menu bar in the upper part of the window;
toolbars containing buttons for calling commands;
shortcut keys (also called hot keys) linked with commands.
ObjectLand provides the user with a possibility to perform customizing of window control elements: change the set of available pull-down menus and their items, change location of toolbars and their buttons, specify a set of shortcut keys for quick calling of commands. Certainly, the matter does not concern the changes of functional capabilities of the system, but a more convenient access to these capabilities for the present user taking into account his habits and more widely used tasks.
All the changes of customizing control elements are saved by the system and are used for opening windows of these type further in the current ObjectLand session, as well as in subsequent startups of the system.
