The window “Legend” contains samples of displaying styles for feature types. Toolbar buttons of this window allow grouping the types either by layers (the button ), or by spatial categories (the button ). The button enables changing the size of sample styles.

The legend can include either all feature types, or only visible types (the button ) and/or those types for which feature selection is allowed (the button ). See chapter  15 “Properties of a theme and of its components”, subsection “Properties of theme feature type” on visibility and selectability properties.

The “Legend” window also offers convenient tools for controlling properties of visibility and selectability of layers and feature types. Two columns of checkboxes located to the right of the list show whether the correspondent layer or type is visible () and selectable () or not. The user can change these properties by switching the boxes. At that, if the button is pushed, changes are immediately displayed in the theme browser window. If this button is released, all the box state changes are displayed after pushing the button .

Beside feature type styles, samples of styles for filter groups are displayed in the legend (chapter 37 “Work with filters”).
