Print setup

For controlling the printing operation the system opens a map printing wizard. The page displayed at the first step of wizard work (figure 16-1) serves for setting such printing parameters which are not specific for ObjectLand. These parameters include: selection of one of the printers available in the system, specifying the number of copies. The button Properties permits performing printer setup if necessary (paper size and orientation, quality of printing, etc.).

The box Print to file enables the user not to send the commands of drawing immediately to the printer, but to record them into a file. To perform printing in future it will be enough just to copy this file to printer (the printer should be necessarily of the same type that was selected in the wizard window during file creation).

The checkbox Print to metafile gives a possibility to create Windows enhanced metafile (file in EMF format) containing calls of system functions of drawing. Subsequently the file can be “played” on any device supported by Windows: on a monitor, printer of any type and so on.

After pushing the button Next the second page of map printing wizard is displayed.
