Point features

A point feature is a feature which position can be specified by coordinates of one point on the map. It doesn't mean that the feature will be displayed as a point, to be more exact, some feature base point will be connected with the point on a map with specified coordinates. Feature displaying depends on the choice of map symbol and its size.

Wells, pillars, transformers can be examples of point features.

When creating a map symbol the system builds a bounding box for it – a minimal rectangle circumscribing this symbol. The height of the bounding box determines the size of the map symbol.

At figure 9-1 an example of point feature map symbol is shown.
