At the second step of EDB adding wizard (figure 39-2) the user can specify a set of additional parameters determining the mode of connection with the data source.
Figure 39-2. EDB adding wizard, page “Setting connection modes”
The checkbox Only user owned objects located in the pane Connection modes is of some importance in the cases when the data source uses the notion of data owner. If the box is checked, the user can get access only to those data components which he owns. When the box is cleared, the components which belong to other owners may be also accessible, if access to them is not denied.
If the box Read-only is checked, the EDB accessible only for reading will be added (provided the data source permits such a mode).
The value specified in the field Login timeout determines the interval of waiting for connection with EDB server. If a zero value of timeout is specified, ObjectLand will be expecting the connection unrestrictedly long.
Checkboxes in the pane Used objects determine which of four component types of the data source will be granted to the user. By default only tables and views are used.
