Scheme of links of feature type

Creating a link of map feature type with a table or query of EDB begins in the same way as creating a link with internal table of GDB. The user should select the necessary map, its layer and feature type in the navigation window, call the property sheet for selected type and open the page “Links” shown at figure 43-1.

Figure 43-1. Scheme of links of feature type

The scheme of links displays all set links of the present feature type with internal GDB tables and with tables and queries of all available EDBs, including those which are closed at the moment. Each EDB with tables and queries of which there is a link is displayed as a separate branch of the tree of the scheme of links.

A direct link is indicated by a sign of a single arrow which points at the corresponding table or query. Apart from a name of a table or a query the scheme displays a name and type of field of direct link.

An indirect link is indicated by a sign of a double arrow . The scheme shows names of EDB table/query and of used cross table, as well as names and types of fields of indirect link in EDB table/query and in the cross table.

If the feature type is linked with table or query of EDB which is closed at the moment, a red slashed circle is added to the sign near the name of the table/query: . In this case names of link fields are not displayed.
