ObjectLand saves results of performed calibration and uses them in next work sessions. At the same time the user is provided with a possibility to store several calibrations having given arbitrary names to them and load any of the saved calibrations in future as well as change the calibration if necessary, for example, change coordinates of some control points or add new points. To perform these actions the buttons Change, Save and Load in the pane Calibration of the dialog box “Setting of digitizer” are used (see figure 21-1).
On the other hand, the user should keep in mind that the saved calibration of digitizer can be useful only until the source map retains its position on the tablet. If the map is taken away or even moved a little, it is required to remove all calibrations made for it and perform calibration anew. In this connection, saving of calibrations is justified only in some cases. For example, if two digitizers are connected to the computer at the same time and each of them is calibrated with the map fastened on its tablet, when passing from one digitizer to the other it is necessary to load configuration and calibration corresponding to it. Another possible situation arises if the user performed calibration for one and the same map several times (for example, one fast and one adaptive calibration) and wants to select the most precise of them.
