An image feature cannot be created in interactive mode, the coordinate mode should be used for feature creation.
In interactive mode the user can perform operations of two types with image features:
Changes which result in changing raster georegistration. We can name here the operations of moving a feature, changing its sizes, rotating the feature. These operations are performed on analogy with area features – in the mode Edit when the submode Editing vertices is turned off. The same editing result can be achieved in the mode of coordinate editing by changing control points binding, however, in interactive mode everything is much more visual.
Changes of image feature boundaries. Raster georegistration is not changed, what is changed is the boundary of image feature visibility which can be an arbitrary polygon including the polygon with cut out internal areas. Image feature boundaries are edited similarly to editing area feature boundaries (see “Adding and editing area features”) in the modes Edit or Adding inner boundary. It is necessary to check the box Change image boundaries in the window of editor control. It is possible to edit the boundary as a whole, if the submode Editing vertices is turned off, as well as change individual boundary vertices if the submode is turned on.
There is one additional limitation for image feature boundaries: they should not exceed the boundaries of the rectangular raster on the basis of which the feature was created. If this limitation is broken in the course of editing, a part of the feature outside the raster is displayed by red color. When trying to complete the editing the system displays a message about incorrectness of the feature, after which the user can either cancel changing the feature or continue to perform editing and specify the correct boundary.
