When a file of format TAB is being opened as a source of raster data, then, before the data input will be performed, ObjectLand opens dialog box “Parameters of importing MapInfo images”, as shown on figure 17-16.

The TAB format differs from other raster data formats, in particular, by containing coordinates of image feature control points, i.e. georegistration of raster data is performed just on their input. This fact causes the presence of the pane Coordinates in TAB file which allows specifying some peculiarities of the georegistration.
The checkbox Interpret map coordinates in TAB file as geodetic means that map coordinates of the control points are given in the TAB file in geodetic system (X is vertical coordinate and Y is horizontal one). If this box is cleared, then the mathematical system is used (X is horizontal coordinate and Y is vertical one).
The checkbox Reflecting Y-coordinate on raster means that raster coordinates of the control points are counted from the upper left corner of the raster array and Y increases in up-down direction. If the box is cleared, raster coordinates are counted from the lower left corner and Y increases in down-up direction.
The pane Optimization contains a set of controls duplicating those described above in the subsection “Raster optimization”. The advantages of this pane's use become apparent mainly on performing operations of importing image features from TAB files (see chapter 68 “Import of raster graphics from files of TAB format”), when it is possible to import many features at once and to set the same optimization parameters for them.
