Page “Parameters”

The third page of the GDB property sheet is called “Parameters” (figure 7-4). It contains information about the size of GDB file pages and maximum file sizes allowed. These values are interconnected: the bigger the page size is – the bigger the maximum file size. For the user information about these sizes can be of interest only if the current GDB sizes (shown on page “General”) are close to maximum sizes allowed (shown on page “Parameters”). In this case the page size should be increased to avoid the possibility of file overflow. However, ObjectLand does not allow the users to change the size of file pages for the current GDB. If the necessity arose, the current GDB should be closed and reorganization operation performed (chapter 6 “Operations with GDB”, subsection “GDB reorganization”), specifying new page sizes.
