From the point of view of internal organization, GDB with which ObjectLand works consist of structural elements which are called components. Maps, themes, tables, queries, layouts, users and style library belong to the components of the upper level. GDB structure is hierarchical: components of the upper level may consist of the components from a lower level and so on.
From the point of view of operating system GDB is represented by a set of files with some definite names and extensions.
