This operation should be performed when passing to a new ObjectLand version in the cases when the GDB format is changed.
If the GDB version does not correspond to the used ObjectLand version, the system will warn the user about the necessity of updating when he makes an attempt to open this GDB. Single execution of updating operation transforms data into the format of the new ObjectLand version.
When selecting the menu command GDB+Update the system opens a dialog box “Selection of GDB for update”. After selecting the GDB for update in this box and pushing the button Open the system executes update.
Updating of GDB of big size can take considerable time. On completing the operation the system informs: “Updating GDB <GDB name> completed successfully.”
Access to GDB created or updated in the new version is impossible from the old version.
It is impossible to update GDB which is current at the present moment. First all the users should close this GDB.
If there is differentiation of user permissions assigned for this particular GDB then only the administrator can update it. Before performing the operation the system asks to enter name and password of the administrator.
