This page (figure 8-4) is used for setting a mode which should be used when performing the operation of opening shared style library (see chapter 5 “GDB opening”), and also for selecting the folder for locating the shared library. On this page also the operations of consolidation and reorganization of shared library can be performed.
Figure 8-4. “ObjectLand settings” property sheet, page “Shared library”
The pane Open mode contains checkboxes for turning on three open modes (see chapter 5 “GDB opening”). The box Change file is accessible for switching only in the case if the mode of obligatory usage (or non-usage) of the change file for shared library has not been set (see “Page “Change file””). It should be noted that opening of the shared library is performed right during ObjectLand startup, that is why changing status of open mode checkboxes will result in real changing of mode only during next startup.
If the shared library is opened with the change file, in the pane Consolidation the data about the current status of the change file is given – its name, the date of last change, status of library consolidation. The change file is always located in the same folder as the shared library itself and has the name GDB.CHG. When pushing the button Consolidate the operation of consolidation of shared library is performed which means transferring of all the changes made from the change file GDB.CHG to the main files of the library.
The pane Folder of shared library enables specifying the folder where the shared library is located. To specify the path to the existing shared library it is required to use the button Browse. The standard location of the shared library is a subfolder SHARDLIB in the folder where the installation program places ObjectLand data.
If styles from GDB libraries only are applied in all used GDB, and the styles of the shared library are not in use, the user can check the box Do not use. In this case in ObjectLand startup opening of the shared library will not be performed. Such a library may not exist at all.
After pushing the button Reorganization a dialog box “Shared library reorganization” is opened. It is completely analogous to the dialog “GDB reorganization” shown at figure 6-4. When performing reorganization it is possible to change the page size of shared library files, however, it is recommended only for experienced users.
The user can create a new (empty) shared library. To do this the button Create should be pushed. A dialog box shown at figure 8-5 will be opened.
Figure 8-5. Dialog box “Creating shared library”
In the pane Page sizes values of page sizes of disk memory used to create files of a new shared library should be specified. Page sizes are inner parameters of the system, however, they affect the maximum size of library files and the system performance. It is recommended to select the minimal page size providing the required maximal size for a particular created library.
In the pane Folder a path to the folder in which the files of a new shared library will be created is specified. When pushing the button Browse a standard dialog box of folder selection is opened.
