Page “GDB opening”

This page (figure 8-2) is used for setting a default mode which should be used when performing the operation of GDB opening. The selected mode will be offered by the system in dialog boxes “GDB opening” and “Setting of GDB open mode”. On this very page the paths to a folder with system working files and to the change file are specified.

The pane Open mode contains checkboxes for turning on three open modes. The box Change file is accessible for switching only in the case if the mode of obligatory usage (or non-usage) of change file for GDB has not been set (see “Page “Change file””).

Work files are created while working with GDB and shared library, on completion of work they are removed automatically. When selecting location of work files, a disk accessible for writing and containing enough free space should be specified. If the box Create in GDB and shared library folders is checked then the work files are located in the same folders where the current GDB and shared library are placed.

The pane Folder for GDB change file enables selection of the folder for locating the change file. The standard location of this file is the same folder in which the opened GDB is placed. If the user prefers to use another folder he should clear the box Change file in GDB folder and use the button Browse.

The box Show full paths… determines the way the names of the last opened GDB in the history list will be displayed – only names or full paths. If the string specifying the full path is too long the history list will contain the beginning and the end of this string.

The purpose of the checkbox Autoopening external databases will be described in chapter 40 “Operations with external databases”.
