As it was mentioned in chapter 64 “Import of spatial data in MIF format”, MIF file is a text file of a special format which contains data about features of the MapInfo map layer: spatial categories of features and descriptions of features themselves. Besides, a record of attributive data stored in the file with MID extension can be linked with every feature. Thus, when exporting features of some definite type to MIF file it is also possible to export to MID file attributive data stored in one of the tables linked with features of the present type.
On the other hand MIF file does not have a similar notion as ObjectLand feature type. Features in MIF file can differ only in spatial categories.
