Setting links of components

The page opened at this step (figure 67-2) is intended for setting correspondence between table fields of DBF file being created and fields of GDB tables linked with map feature types. If no GDB table was selected at the previous step, the step of setting links is omitted.

All GDB tables selected at the previous step are shown in the pane List of tables.

In the pane List of fields there is a list of all fields of selected table. Names of these fields are given in the column “Name in table”, types of field values – in the column “Type”.

Checkboxes to the left of the list of fields show which table fields should be exported. Checking and clearing these boxes is performed by context menu commands Export / Do not Export or just by clicks of the left mouse button.

To specify values of fields “Name in file”, “Length” and “Decimal point” it is necessary to select the corresponding line in the list of fields and perform the context menu command Change. A dialog box “Setting field export” similar to the one shown at figure 65-4 will be opened.

One should enter a name in the pane DBF file under which this field will be described in DBF file heading. Field name in DBF file should consist of Latin letters and digits, it should begin with a letter and have not more than 10 characters.

In the pane Size field width is indicated (the number of positions in character representation of value), and for real numbers – also the position of decimal point, that is, the number of digits in fractional part of the number. For fields of types “Date” and “Boolean” the length is not indicated, it is determined according to accepted format of representation of these fields.

For every GDB table selected at the previous settings step at least one field for export should be chosen.
