This page unites various parameters affecting display of charts of different types.

Values specified in the fields Factor of distance between groups and Factor of distance between series relate to charts of types Horizontal Bar and Bar, of the subtype Simple only. Charts of these types look like sets of horizontal or vertical bars displaying values of elements of groups of data (see “Type of charts”).

The factor of distance between groups shows which part of the segment allotted for display of every group of data will be occupied by the space separating neighboring groups. Thus, with the factor 0.5 the width of the space will be equal to the width of the group itself, and with the factor 0.0 groups of data will be arranged right up to each other, without separating space.

The factor of distance between series is the ratio of distance between data elements (bars) to the width of the bar itself. A negative value of this parameter is allowed, in this case the bars are partially overlaying each other which permits economizing space and sometimes it even looks good.

The field Start angle and the checkbox Proportional diameters are enabled only for the chart of the type Pie. The start angle determines the beginning of counting values, that is, the slope angle of radius from which circle sectors displaying values of data elements will be counted. If the box Proportional diameters is checked, circles corresponding to different groups of data will have diameters proportional to sums of values of all elements of the appropriate groups (that is, the group with bigger sum of elements will have bigger diameter). If the box is cleared, all circles have the same diameters.

The checkbox Connect points is used for charts of the type Line. If this box is cleared, only points corresponding to values of data elements are displayed in the chart. If the box is checked, the points belonging to one data series are joined by a line.
