Panes of the page “Query” permit determining what data should be displayed in the chart.

The name of the cataloged query on the basis of which a chart will be built can be selected in the drop-down list Query. Apart from names of existing queries this list also contains a special value <None>. If this value is selected, the chart is displayed in the form of a gray rectangle. In the course of designing the layout further the user can change the empty query to any of the existing ones.

The pane Fields contains all numeric query fields, and the pane Order of fields – only the fields which will be used when building a chart (these fields are shown in the pane Fields as selected ones). To include a field into a chart it is enough to click the name of this field in the pane Fields. To exclude the field from the chart the same thing should be done. With every click the state of field is switched.

It is possible to change the order of displaying fields in the chart. To do this one should select the name in the pane Order of fields and drag it upwards or downwards in the list while holding down the mouse button.

In the pane Data series by two radio buttons are located using which it is possible to choose what will be considered to be data series. If the radio button Fields is checked, data series is a sequence of values of one of numeric fields included into the chart for all query records. In this case a group of data is constituted by values of all numeric fields included into the chart for one query record. If the radio button Records is checked, data series are values of all fields included into the chart for one query record. Then a group of data is a set of values of one field in all records.

For easy understanding of a chart text inscriptions are usually used which characterize the meaning of displayed data. There are two types of such inscriptions:

Two different text sources are used for two types of inscriptions mentioned above:

If data series are built by fields, for every series the name of the corresponding numeric field is indicated, and for every group – the value of the string field of the corresponding record. If data series by records are used, on the contrary, for every series the value of the string field of the record is indicated, and for every group – the name of numeric field corresponding to this group.

The pane Labels from field permits the user to select in the drop-down list the name of the string query field which will be used as a source of inscriptions.

If the special value <Auto> is selected in the list, numbers of records in the query: Record 1, Record 2 and so on are displayed instead of values of some string field.
