Chart type Scatter

This type is shown at figure 49-6. It differs from other chart types considerably in the form and purpose.

The chart of type Scatter can be built only in the case if exactly two numeric query fields are selected to be displayed. It is of no importance if a chart with data series by records or by fields is built, chart subtype is also not taken into account.

For every query record a point is built which X and Y coordinates are values of two selected fields of this record. As a result the chart looks like a set of points on the plane marked by some map symbol. Charts of such a type in some cases allow determining the presence and character of the correlation between values of two query fields visually.
