Moving, copying, removing elements

In the previous section the simplest way of moving selected layout elements within the editing pane using the mouse was described.

To move and copy elements within one layout or between different layouts of one GDB it is possible to use such means standard for Windows applications as menu commands Edit+Cut, Edit+Copy, Edit+Paste.

Before performing the operations Cut and Copy it is necessary to select the element or several elements of the layout which should be moved or copied.

The command Edit+Cut transfers selected elements to clipboard removing them from the layout.

The command Edit+Copy puts selected elements to clipboard not changing the contents of the layout.

The command Edit+Paste inserts elements which were placed to clipboard by the last command performed Cut or Copy into the editing pane. Inserted elements become selected which permits the user to move them to the necessary place using the mouse.

Multiple execution of the command Paste allows getting several identical copies of one and the same element or a group of elements. Every new copy is located with a slight shift with respect to the previous one.

The commands Edit+Copy and Edit+Cut do not allow for transfer of separate elements of the layout via clipboard to other Windows applications. As it was described above, there is a possibility to transfer only the whole layout to other applications using the command Tools+Copy to Clipboard.

To remove one or several layout elements it is enough to select these elements and then perform the command Edit+Delete or press the key Delete.
