The layout editor window serves for arrangement of elements on the layout page and specifying properties of the page itself as well as of elements located on it. Display of the layout being created on the screen permits the user to see the current state of the layout in the editing process.
At figure 45-1 an editor window opened for the layout “Map of Repair Place” is shown.

The command View+Update causes redrawing of all the contents of the window. In some cases when changes to GDB are made by several users simultaneously, the system is unable to automatically update layout display in the editor window and displays a warning message with recommendation to perform the command Update.
The user has a possibility to perform setting of control elements of the window (menus, toolbars, shortcut keys). Executing the setting is described in detail in chapter 12 “Themes”, subsection “Customizing window control elements”.
