Working with layouts in the navigation window

Layouts are one of the types of GDB components. If the line “Layouts” is selected in the structure pane of the navigation window, names of all existing layouts of the current GDB are displayed in the list pane. At the command Edit+Add the system opens a dialog box “Adding layout” where it is necessary to enter a name of the layout being created.

If the user selects the new layout in the list of layouts after it has been created and performs the menu command Edit+Open (or pushes the toolbar button ), the opened layout editor window will show that the new layout is a clean page. To fill the layout with some contents it is necessary to locate required elements on this page and save the layout in the changed form. To make further changes with the existing layout the same command Edit+Open is used.

The menu command Tools+Dependencies allows the user to get lists of all maps, themes, tables and queries linked with the elements of the selected layout. Character of these links will be examined when layout elements are described. Any GDB component linked with the layout can be opened for browsing.

The menu commands Edit+Rename and Edit+Remove do not require additional clarifications.
