Full search condition

As it was said above, when performing search continuation a new condition is combined with the old one making a full search condition in accordance with which next query is built. The page Conditions of the property sheet “Properties of query” permits viewing and changing the full search condition for the query.

To view the full condition it is required to perform the command Query+Properties in the table browser window and select the tab Conditions in the opened property sheet “Properties of query”. This page is similar to the dialog box “Search”, but the pane “Conditions for selected table” of the page “Conditions” will contain the full search condition right after the property sheet is opened.

For example, for sequential search operations described in the subsection “Search continuation”, the condition pane of the property sheet “Properties of query” will look like it is shown at figures 26-8 and 26-9.

Figure 26-8. Tab “Conditions” of the property sheet “Properties of query” for the sequence of search operations: “buildings located in Sea Lane or Theatre Avenue” or “buildings located in Yellow street”

The condition shown in the property sheet “Properties of query” can be changed, that is, it is possible to add new simple conditions, remove and change the existing ones. If the button OK is pushed after the changes are made, the system performs the search operation in accordance with the new changed condition and will display records in the current table browser window.

Changing of condition of searching the query created as a result of several operations of search continuation does not affect conditions specified in intermediate browser windows.

The command Tools+Search and changing the search condition in the property sheet “Properties of query” look alike, however, they have two significant differences.
